
Brush Hand – Job Overview
The Brush Hand position at Rand Water is a permanent opportunity based in Vereeniging within the Bulk Water Services – Operations division. The successful candidate will support the Painter in maintaining plant facilities, buildings, parking areas, fences, poles, and road markings to ensure they remain clean, safe, and presentable according to company standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Painters with daily painting and maintenance tasks.
- Carry tools, paint materials, and equipment to and from work areas.
- Prepare floors, furniture, and surfaces before painting.
- Assist with erecting and preparing scaffolding.
- Apply undercoats and paint according to Rand Water procedures.
- Fetch paint and related materials from stores when required.
- Assist in painting walls, ceilings, fences, and other structures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas.
- Clean paint brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment after use.
- Support maintenance activities while following safety procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- At least six months of related work experience.
- Basic painting training.
- Safety training will be an advantage.
Knowledge Required
- Basic painting methods using brushes and rollers.
- Knowledge of painting tools and materials.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations.
