Collections Agent

Role Objectives:

As a Collections Agent, you will be responsible for engaging with clients and debtors to resolve outstanding accounts while delivering professional and respectful customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Making and receiving calls to address customer needs, complaints, and outstanding debts
  • Contacting debtors via telephone and digital platforms to negotiate debt recovery
  • Actively listening to clients, clarifying information, and managing difficult conversations professionally
  • Negotiating manageable payment arrangements and settlement agreements
  • Preventing repeat delinquency through effective payment solutions
  • Recording all customer interactions, payment plans, and transactions accurately on CRM systems
  • Meeting or exceeding call centre performance metrics while maintaining service quality
  • Initiating legal or repossession processes where recovery efforts are unsuccessful
Required Qualifications:
  • Matric certificate
  • Clear criminal and credit record
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in collections or a related environment
  • Previous experience in debt collection or energy collections will be advantageous
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional client relationships
  • Patience, persistence, and attention to detail
  • Confidence in handling objections and sensitive conversations

Customer Service Agent – Closer

Nutun’s Customer Service Agents play a vital role in delivering excellent customer experiences. This role is ideal for individuals who are customer-focused, solutions-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced call centre environment.

Role Qualifications and Experience:
  • Matric certificate
  • Minimum of 1 year call centre customer service experience
  • Mortgage, loan, or finance experience will be advantageous
Job Objectives:
  • Achieve first-call resolution and maintain high service quality standards
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and provide effective solutions
  • Remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused when handling difficult calls
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Achieve campaign-specific KPIs and performance targets
  • Escalate calls to the relevant departments when necessary
  • Use call centre systems, software, tools, and reports accurately
  • Participate in training and continuously improve skills and performance
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Good reading comprehension and written communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
