The organisation invites suitably qualified students and recent graduates to apply for the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme. This programme is designed to provide practical workplace exposure to individuals who have completed their theoretical studies and require experiential learning as part of their career development. The WIL Trainee Programme runs for a period of 12 months and aims to equip participants with relevant skills, hands-on experience, and professional development opportunities that enhance future employability.

Position Purpose

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world work environment. The programme focuses on bridging the gap between theory and practice by providing structured on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-related tasks. Participants will gain valuable experience that supports both personal and professional growth while contributing to the organisation’s operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities and Outputs

Task Execution

  • Assist with specific projects within assigned departments or work streams.
  • Perform routine operational and technical tasks under supervision.
  • Provide support with administrative duties, including record keeping, documentation, and reporting.

Learning and Development

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and structured development programmes.
  • Work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge and workplace insights.
  • Engage in problem-solving activities to strengthen analytical and critical thinking skills.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to understand operational and business needs.
  • Provide regular progress updates on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Act as a point of contact for basic queries and assistance within the work environment.

Research and Analysis

  • Assist with market research, data collection, and basic analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Compile reports and presentations using standard computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.

Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Maintain ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed with integrity and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • S4–S5 Technical qualification.
  • Completion of all theoretical coursework in one of the following disciplines:
    • Electronics
    • Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Physical Metallurgy
    • Chemical Engineering
  • South African citizenship.
  • Between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • No existing bursary obligations with another organisation.
  • Proof of institutional confirmation or most recent letter from the institution.
  • Certified copies of Matric certificate, academic record, and South African ID.
  • Preference will be given to persons with disabilities.
