Main Purpose
This role is responsible for assisting with the effective and efficient operation of the warehouse while also delivering and collecting stock from customers safely and on time. The successful candidate will support warehouse activities and ensure smooth delivery operations.
Storeman Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the warehouse
- Label inventory items correctly
- Ensure stock is stored in correct bin locations
- Assist with receiving, checking, and packing stock
- Pull stock for customer orders
- Perform regular cycle counts and stock checks
- Assist with stock take preparation
- Investigate and report stock variances
- Support other departments when required
Driver Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicle before trips and ensure roadworthiness
- Report accidents or vehicle defects immediately
- Plan delivery routes efficiently using GPS
- Load stock according to delivery documentation
- Submit delivery reports and administration documents
- Obtain customer signatures after deliveries
- Communicate with customers regarding complaints or issues
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean
- Monitor vehicle servicing requirements
- Follow all safety and security regulations
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (Compulsory)
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
- Valid PDP licence
- Minimum 3 years driving experience
- Familiarity with GPS technology devices
Advantageous
- Minimum 2 years warehouse or stock handling experience
