Role Purpose

Metropolitan Life is offering an exciting 18-month Sales Learnership Programme, commencing in 2026, aimed at unemployed youth who are interested in building a career in sales, customer service, and the insurance industry.

This learnership provides participants with the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience while completing a structured learning programme. Successful learners may obtain a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification, subject to satisfactory performance and meeting all programme requirements.

The programme is designed to equip learners with foundational knowledge of the insurance and financial services sector, while also developing key workplace competencies such as communication, administration, customer service, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Learners appointed to the programme will be expected to actively participate in both theoretical and practical components of the learnership, including:

  • Completing all required theoretical learning modules, assessments, and workplace assignments within agreed timelines
  • Ensuring that all administrative and reporting duties related to the learnership are completed accurately and timeously
  • Collating, compiling, and distributing documentation in line with required standards and within defined turnaround times
  • Attending to internal and external queries in a professional and courteous manner to ensure a positive client experience
  • Supporting customer service processes by screening and routing queries to the relevant stakeholders
  • Assisting with the resolution of client queries in line with service level agreements
  • Maintaining appropriate office housekeeping standards and adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Actively participating in learning sessions, workplace coaching, and performance reviews

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Sales Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Be a South African citizen by birth
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Belong to a previously disadvantaged group
  • People living with disabilities are encouraged to apply
