Programme Overview
Tiger Brands is offering a Workplace Experience Student opportunity within its Risk and Safety Department. This programme is designed to provide practical workplace experience to students interested in risk management, occupational health and safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Risk and Safety team while developing valuable industry knowledge and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management Support
- Assist in identifying workplace hazards and risks.
- Participate in risk assessments and safety evaluations.
- Support the maintenance of hazard and risk registers.
- Assist in monitoring corrective and preventative actions.
Workplace Safety
- Participate in workplace safety inspections.
- Help identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Support the implementation of workplace safety initiatives.
- Promote a culture of health and safety throughout the organisation.
Incident Investigation
- Assist with incident and near-miss investigations.
- Gather information and compile reports.
- Monitor follow-up actions and recommendations.
- Support efforts to reduce workplace accidents and incidents.
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Assist with compliance to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Support safety audits and compliance assessments.
- Ensure safety policies and procedures are correctly implemented.
Awareness and Training
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Assist with safety awareness campaigns.
- Support employee education on workplace safety practices.
- Promote health and safety best practices throughout the workplace.
