About the Position

Unitrans is seeking an experienced General Worker (Cleaner) to assist with cleaning, housekeeping, loading support, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. The successful candidate will ensure that premises, walkways, and operational areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be medically fit.
• Must be reliable and dependable.

• Must have own reliable transport to and from work.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must be able to work safely and follow all safety procedures.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must be physically fit and able to:

  • Push and pull equipment.
  • Lift and carry items repeatedly.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must have strong organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Minimum qualification: Grade 11 or lower.

Duties and Responsibilities

Loading Assistance

• Assist drivers in positioning vehicles safely for loading.
• Support loading operations when required.
• Assist with the safe handling of products and materials.
• Ensure loading procedures are followed correctly.

Vehicle and Tanker Support

• Ensure tanker top and bottom doors are properly opened and closed.
• Assist with decanting overloaded vehicles.
• Operate loading mechanisms according to safety standards.

Cleaning and Housekeeping

• Clean the entire premises regularly.
• Ensure all outside walkways remain clear and free from debris.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties.
• Maintain cleanliness in operational and work areas.
• Ensure a safe and tidy working environment at all times.

Maintenance Reporting

• Report maintenance issues and repairs required.
• Notify management of any hazards or damages.
• Assist in maintaining workplace safety standards.
