Code 14 Driver – Centurion
A grocery retail company is looking for experienced Code 14 Drivers for a permanent full-time position based in Centurion. The role involves transporting goods safely and ensuring deliveries are completed on time while following all road safety and company procedures.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for long-distance and local deliveries, vehicle inspections, safe transportation of goods, and maintaining delivery records. The company is seeking a reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious driver who works well within a team environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Deliver goods to customers safely and on time.
- Report vehicle faults or mechanical problems to supervisors.
- Load, unload, and secure goods for transportation.
- Verify delivery instructions and loaded quantities.
- Obtain proof of delivery and signed documentation.
- Follow all road traffic laws and company safety standards.
- Maintain records of fuel slips, invoices, and working hours.
- Ensure tyre pressure matches vehicle load requirements.
- Keep the vehicle clean and properly maintained.
- Report accidents, incidents, and traffic violations immediately.
- Ensure vehicle licenses and permits remain valid and visible.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDP).
- Previous experience as a Code 14 Driver.
- Clear criminal record.
- Must live within 25km of the workplace.
Preferred Requirements
- Own transport.
- EC1 driver’s license advantage.
- English communication skills.
- Experience with long-distance driving.
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems.
- Good health and fitness for driving duties.
