Main Purpose
This internship is designed for university students who require practical workplace experience to complete their qualifications. The programme provides exposure to research and development processes within the food manufacturing industry while helping interns develop technical and professional skills.
Main Areas of Exposure

- Laboratory testing procedures
- Shelf life testing and reporting
- Competitor benchmarking
- Customer presentations and tasting sessions
- Recipe revisions and product improvement
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with development of new products
- Test raw materials and alternative ingredients
- Conduct shelf life tests and complete reports
- Assist with tasting sessions and presentations
- Perform softness, texture, volume, and water activity tests
- Record and archive laboratory trial data
- Maintain sample registers and product libraries
- Compile bakery and product testing reports
- Record recipe revisions during product development
Minimum Requirements
- BSc or BSc (Hons) in Food Science or equivalent qualification
OR - National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology or equivalent qualification
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Basic understanding of Food Science and Food Chemistry
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Computer literacy
- Administrative skills
- Planning and time management skills
