Main Purpose
This position is for an experienced Casual Cashier responsible for providing excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate transactions and minimizing fraud risks. The role focuses on creating a professional shopping experience and handling all cashier duties according to company policies and procedures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Process customer payments and transactions
- Handle cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons
- Process loyalty cards and rewards programmes
- Assist customers with returns and exchanges when authorized
- Maintain accurate cash flow and secure handling of money
- Report customer complaints and compliments to management
- Promote customer service and communication standards
- Ensure all stock and items are scanned and paid for
- Monitor and report suspicious behaviour
- Assist customers with merchandise queries
- Follow company security and operational procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 6 months cashier or till operations experience
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of English
- Basic customer service skills
- Willing and able to work retail hours
