Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.

• Must be fluent in Business English.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work well with customers and store management.

• Must be proactive, motivated, and customer-orientated.

• Good planning and organisational abilities.

• Administrative and stock control capabilities are essential.

Stock Control Responsibilities

• Maintain correct stock levels in assigned stores at all times.

• Apply proper stock control measures in-store and in backup areas.

• Minimise product returns and damages according to company procedures.

• Ensure products are always available on shelves to avoid out-of-stock situations.

• Report stock shortages to the Area Manager immediately.

• Place accurate and timely stock orders according to the store ordering schedule.

• Ensure all products are neat, clean, and correctly displayed on shelves.

• Maintain proper control of crates and company equipment in stores.


Shelf Merchandising Duties

• Pack shelves according to store flow and merchandising standards.

• Follow shelf plans and product layouts provided by management.

• Ensure fridges are clean, organised, and functioning properly.

• Maintain correct pricing labels for every product at all times.

• Place promotional and point-of-sale materials in allocated positions.

• Keep shelves attractive and fully stocked to improve product visibility.

• Identify opportunities to increase product presence and sales in stores.


Relationship Management

• Build and maintain good relationships with store management.

• Work closely with Area Managers, Head Office staff, customers, and fellow merchandisers.

• Maintain professional behaviour and teamwork at all times.

• Provide excellent customer service in every store visited.


Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete all required merchandising and stock administration accurately.

• Ensure reports, returns, and stock records are updated correctly.

• Follow company policies and procedures when handling products and equipment.
