Overview
Afrimat is currently recruiting for a General Worker position based in Rawsonville, Western Cape. The company is looking for hardworking and disciplined individuals who can assist with plant maintenance, housekeeping, and general labour duties within a mining and construction materials environment.
This opportunity may suit candidates who have completed Grade 12 and are interested in gaining experience within the mining, quarry, construction materials, or industrial sectors.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants interested in the position should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification
- Must be literate and functionally numerate
- Basic knowledge of machinery
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work independently without supervision
- Good teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Willingness to perform manual labour duties
- Ability to work irregular hours, including night shifts when required
- Must be medically fit according to company and Mine Health and Safety standards
Afrimat also requires candidates to complete a pre-employment medical assessment before appointment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates may be responsible for:
- Assisting with daily pre-start inspection checks
- Cleaning plant areas regularly
- Supporting plant maintenance activities
- Maintaining housekeeping standards around the site
- Cleaning screens and work areas
- Assisting with screen changes
- Reporting problems to supervisors
- Following workplace safety procedures
- Carrying out instructions from supervisors and management
