POSITION OVERVIEW
Curro Protea Glen is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and experienced General Worker (Full-Time) to join its facilities and support team. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the school environment, ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, and functional at all times.
This position requires a practical individual with maintenance skills, good communication abilities, and a strong sense of responsibility.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The General Worker will be responsible for the following duties:
- Performing basic maintenance and repair tasks such as plumbing, fixing broken items, and general handyman work
- Conducting daily inspections of school buildings, classrooms, and facilities to identify maintenance needs
- Maintaining school grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming grass, and caring for flower beds and gardens
- Assisting with safety control and traffic management during school arrival and dismissal times
- Cleaning, organising, and safely storing tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
- Supporting school operations by assisting with general tasks as required
- Driving school vehicles from time to time when necessary (if required by management)
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with school policies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar general worker or maintenance role
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, repair work, and garden upkeep
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Presentable appearance and professional conduct
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Clear criminal record (essential requirement)
