About the Learnership Programme
The MiWay Lead Generator Learnership is a 12-month entry-level programme designed to address skills gaps in the insurance industry and develop a pipeline of future professionals.
Participants will gain:
- Structured workplace experience in a professional insurance environment
- Classroom-based learning one day per week with an accredited training provider
- Hands-on exposure to real business processes, including client engagement, administration, and sales support
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced industry professionals
Upon completion, learners will achieve the RE5 regulatory qualification, which is a key certification for working in the insurance industry. This qualification also allows learners to apply for professional membership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) in the designation category of IISA Member (MIISA), enhancing career prospects and credibility in the sector.

Work Model: In-office

Study Component: 1 day per week classroom learning

The Lead Generator Learnership provides practical exposure in the following areas:
- New business processing: Assist with generating and managing leads, client appointments, and follow-ups
- Existing business support: Help maintain and manage client records and relationships
- Client liaison: Coordinate appointments and communicate with prospective and current clients
- Partnership building: Develop professional relationships and contribute to client acquisition strategies

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
To be eligible for the learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 / Standard 10 / NQF Level 4 certificate
- Minimum 50% in English and a second language
- Minimum 40% in Mathematics OR minimum 60% in Mathematics Literacy
- Other Requirements:
- South African citizen
- Unemployed at the time of application
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
- Less than 1 year of work experience
- Not currently studying at another institution
- Must not have previously completed a Short-Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA
