The successful candidate will support housekeeping operations by ensuring hotel public areas, guest facilities, and shared spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. The role reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and will be based within the Hotel and Chalet facilities inside the park.

🎯 Role Purpose
The Hotel General Worker Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across hotel public areas while supporting accommodation services. The position contributes directly to guest satisfaction by ensuring facilities meet accepted tourism and hospitality standards.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric certificate)
- 1–2 years practical experience in a tourism, hospitality, or general worker environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of customer service principles
- Knowledge of hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Understanding of tourism service standards
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
Added Advantages
- Room attendant or housekeeping experience
- Knowledge of first aid practices
- Familiarity with SANParks policies, safety regulations, and code of conduct
🧹 Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Housekeeping Duties
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of hotel public areas including:
- Reception areas
- Lobbies and lounges
- Corridors and elevators
- Restrooms
- Conference facilities
- Guest-accessible areas
- Maintain cleanliness according to approved workflow schedules.
- Assist room attendants in hotel rooms and chalet accommodation when required.
- Ensure sufficient stock and supplies are available in guest units.
Operational Support
- Provide clear work handovers between shifts.
- Sign off daily cleaning schedules upon completion.
- Use cleaning equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Apply cleaning chemicals safely and according to set standards.
- Assist with the collection and control of housekeeping inventory and supplies.
Maintenance & Safety
- Report technical faults and maintenance issues promptly.
- Perform minor maintenance duties when required.
- Handle and report lost property to housekeeping management.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- Follow safe working procedures aligned with tourism regulations.
General Duties
- Support supervisors with ad hoc operational tasks.
- Promote a professional and welcoming environment for park visitors.
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping and hospitality teams.
