SPCC is currently seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Shop Assistant to join its Pavilion store in KwaZulu-Natal.


Role Overview

The Shop Assistant is responsible for creating an enjoyable and professional shopping experience for every customer who enters the store. This includes assisting with product selection, maintaining store presentation standards, supporting sales targets, and ensuring accurate till operations.

This role is ideal for individuals who love fashion, enjoy interacting with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.


Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Sales
  • Provide friendly, high-quality service to all customers
  • Assist shoppers with selecting products that suit their style and needs
  • Recommend additional items to increase basket value
  • Build positive relationships that encourage repeat visits
Point-of-Sale Operations
  • Process transactions accurately through the till system
  • Handle payments responsibly and in line with store procedures
  • Assist with returns and exchanges where applicable
Merchandising & Store Presentation
  • Ensure new and replenished stock is placed promptly on the sales floor
  • Maintain attractive visual displays and correct ticketing
  • Keep shelves, rails, and displays neat and organised
Stock Control & Security
  • Support stock counts and inventory processes
  • Assist with initiatives to minimise losses and shrinkage
  • Ensure store equipment is properly secured
Operational Support
  • Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations
  • Understand and work towards daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
  • Participate in action plans to improve store performance
Health & Safety
  • Follow store health and safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and safe shopping environment for customers and staff

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (Matric) – Required
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail or similar customer service environment
