Job Overview

Clover is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed South African youth to participate in the YES Learner (Industrial) programme within its Production, Primary Transport, and Secondary Distribution environments. This programme is designed to provide 12 months of structured workplace experience, enabling participants to gain practical exposure in logistics, warehouse operations, and distribution support functions.

The positions are based at various Clover sites across the country, including Roodepoort (Head Office), Clayville, CDC Cape Town, Polokwane, Nelspruit, CDC KZN, Port Elizabeth, Queensburgh, and Atlas Distribution, among others.

Purpose of the Programme

The purpose of the YES Learner (Industrial) programme is to equip participants with hands-on workplace experience in logistics and distribution operations. Learners will gain exposure to warehouse management systems, stock control, administration, safety practices, and operational support processes that are essential within a fast-paced supply chain environment.

This programme is ideal for motivated young individuals seeking to develop workplace skills, improve employability, and gain experience within a reputable FMCG organisation.


Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • South African citizen.
  • Between 18 and 33 years of age.
  • In possession of a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
  • Currently unemployed.
  • Must not have previously participated in a learnership or YES programme with another organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The YES Learner will perform a range of duties, including but not limited to the following:

Stock and Warehouse Management

  • Assist with managing stock in accordance with the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Receive, dispatch, locate, and re-supply stock during receiving processes.
  • Control stock while in holding and oversee stock movement and re-packing.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and prevent shrinkage or losses.
  • Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and returns to suppliers.

System and Operational Support

  • Maintain warehouse systems, including updates for new or discontinued products.
  • Ensure stock is stored at the correct physical and system locations.
  • Assist with scanner setup and linking.
  • Compare and interpret weighbridge statistics against claims.

Housekeeping, Safety, and Security

  • Perform housekeeping duties in line with company standards.
  • Follow safety regulations and support a safe working environment.
  • Ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain security and safety of stock in assigned areas.

Productivity and Resource Utilisation

  • Support allocation of resources for picking and warehouse operations.
  • Assist in optimising the use of picking cages.
  • Help minimise idle time and improve productivity levels.

Administrative Duties

  • Capture truck and driver documentation accurately.
  • Process satellite and inter-branch reports.
  • Check, control, and print invoices and load sheets.
  • Follow up on queries and report deviations in truck arrival times.
  • Close routes on ERMS and assist with general logistics administration.
Engineering Store Support
  • Receive and issue stock parts into the system and physical locations.
  • Assist with direct and indirect stock orders.
  • Complete requisitions and ensure correct documentation is processed.
  • Issue parts to artisans in line with approved procedures.
