The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads & Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), is offering learnership opportunities to young people under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). These 12-month learnerships provide an exciting chance for individuals to develop skills in various construction and technical fields, gain valuable workplace experience, and work towards a rewarding career.


Programmes Available:
1. Multi-Learner Learnership (Construction and Trades)

Duration: 12 Months
Fields Available:

  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Bricklaying
  • Painting
  • Community House Building

The Multi-Learner Learnership is designed to equip young people with hands-on experience in the construction sector. Over the course of 12 months, learners will undergo 4 months of theoretical training followed by 6 months of practical workplace experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain industry-specific skills and enhance employability in the construction and trades sectors.

Training Location:

  • Theoretical training will take place in Polokwane, and learners must be willing to relocate during the theory phase.

Requirements:

  • Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Education: Minimum Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science or equivalent, or a 3-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6).
  • Other: A clear, certified copy of your South African ID, your Matric certificate, and a Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Stipend:
Learners will receive a monthly stipend of R3,500 during the programme.


2. Electrical Engineering Learnership

Duration: 12 Months
Field Available: Electrical Engineering

The Electrical Engineering Learnership focuses on training and equipping young people with the technical skills needed in the electrical sector. Successful candidates will undergo 4 months of theoretical training and 8 months of workplace exposure in various electrical engineering environments.

  • Lebowakgomo
  • Motantanyane
  • Centre for Community Development
  • Abakholwe Community Developers

Requirements:

  • Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Education: Minimum Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level 4) with good academic standing.
  • Other: A certified copy of your Matric certificate, South African ID, and CV.

Stipend:
Successful learners will receive a monthly stipend of R3,500 for the duration of the programme.
