Job Purpose

The purpose of this Sales & Marketing Learnership is to support the implementation of a market-driven, customer-focused service that enhances competitiveness within the Tavern Class of Trade. The role contributes to the development of brand equity, sales volume, market share, and customer relationships while supporting key company strategies and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Development
  • Build relationships with tavern owners and decision-makers.
  • Conduct weekly customer visits to strengthen partnerships and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data.
  • Achieve volume and sales targets within assigned outlets.
  • Encourage consistent direct purchasing from the company each week.
AMPPS Delivery (Availability, Merchandising, Price, Promotions, Space)
  • Ensure 100% product availability through proactive volume monitoring.
  • Manage stock rotation to avoid out-of-stock issues.
  • Implement merchandising guidelines in both consumption and purchase zones.
  • Support price communication and ensure compliance with pricing guidelines.
  • Monitor shelf space, track competitor activity, and secure optimal brand positioning.
Merchandising, Pricing & Promotions
  • Execute brand promotions across assigned outlets.
  • Ensure product visibility aligns with trade execution guidelines.
  • Track performance of campaigns and communicate gaps to the sales lead.
Asset Management
  • Ensure full compliance for fridges, signage, merchandising materials, and other company assets.
  • Conduct asset verification audits when required.
  • Assist customers with stock-management tools to minimise stockouts.
  • Maintain stock quality and proper rotation in customer fridges.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability
  • Address issues and resolve challenges quickly.
  • Manage demanding work hours with resilience.
  • Support operational needs during peak trading times.

Minimum Requirements
  • A completed Diploma or Degree (Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred).
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Good understanding of the local area (Kimberley).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Successful completion of a driver’s assessment before appointment.
