Job Purpose
- Maintain trees on road reserves, parks, traffic islands, and City-owned open spaces
- Operate specialised equipment such as:
- Mechanical stump grinder
- Mechanical chipper
- Improve environmental quality and community services within Region 7
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10
- At least 6 months’ experience as a truck driver
- Valid Code C1/EC1 driver’s licence
- Valid PrDP
- Physically fit and healthy
- Willingness to work shifts
- Must undergo criminal record check
- Must allow fingerprints to be taken at own cost

Key Responsibilities
- Control vehicles and equipment allocated to the section
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
- Prepare sites for new developments
- Operate mechanical stump grinder safely
- Operate mechanical chipper safely
- Maintain equipment according to operator manuals
