ROLE OVERVIEW
Curro Protea Glen is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Worker to join their team. This role is essential in maintaining the school’s facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for learners, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will support daily operations through maintenance, gardening, and general assistance duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs and fixing damaged items
- Conduct daily inspections of school facilities to identify issues
Grounds & Garden Care
- Maintain school gardens, including mowing lawns and caring for flower beds
- Ensure outdoor areas are clean, neat, and well-presented
Safety & Support
- Assist with traffic control and safety procedures during peak school hours
- Support general school operations when required
Equipment Handling
- Keep tools, machinery, and equipment clean and properly stored
- Report any faulty tools or maintenance needs
Driving Duties
- Carry out occasional driving tasks as required by the school
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with PDP
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Good communication skills and a professional appearance
- Clear criminal record (non-negotiable)
- Willingness to contribute to the school’s values and educational environment
