Job Overview

The primary purpose of the Checker I role is to inspect, verify, and record goods or containers to ensure they meet company standards and compliance requirements. The position supports dispatch operations, stock control processes, and system administration duties.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring inventory accuracy, legal compliance, and operational efficiency within the loading and distribution environment.


Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Dispatch
  • Verify assembled, packed, stacked, loaded, and unloaded goods
  • Check product quantities, condition, and accuracy before dispatch
  • Perform pre-loading inspections of vehicles to ensure cleanliness
  • Confirm that vehicle slides are properly closed before loading
  • Oversee loading and sealing of loads
  • Ensure dispatch documentation aligns with physical stock

Inventory & Record Keeping
  • Record and capture goods information manually or electronically
  • Maintain accurate bin stock documentation
  • Complete all required stock and dispatch records
  • Assist with system administration related to stock control
  • Ensure inventory data is accurate and updated

Compliance & Weighbridge Operations
  • Weigh vehicle axles to ensure legal compliance
  • Ensure vehicles comply with load regulations
  • Report discrepancies or irregularities to the Supervisor
  • Follow all safety and operational procedures

General Duties & Housekeeping
  • Perform daily cleaning of weighbridge and loading areas
  • Maintain general housekeeping within the loading facility
  • Assist with general warehouse and operational tasks
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor

The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining operational standards and ensuring compliance at all times.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Up to 2 years’ experience in a similar role (warehouse, dispatch, or stock control)

Experience in quality control or inventory management will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
