🎯 Purpose of the Role

The General Worker will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of buildings and operational areas. The role focuses on ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by providing housekeeping support and preparing facilities for meetings, conferences, and special events.

You will serve as a key custodian responsible for hygiene, cleanliness, and upkeep while contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

🧹 Housekeeping & Cleaning

• Maintain general cleanliness of the Brand Home and operational facilities
• Clean tasting rooms, conference venues, restaurants, and public areas throughout the day
• Ensure floors, windows, doors, surfaces, and glassware remain spotless
• Prepare all public areas before guest arrivals

☕ Hospitality Support

• Prepare tea, coffee, and meal services before and during meetings or events
• Assist with conference and special event setup requirements
• Support front-of-house operations where required

🛠 Facility Monitoring

• Report maintenance, cleaning, or safety concerns immediately
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times
• Monitor housekeeping quality across all operational areas

📦 Stock & Equipment Management

• Manage and monitor cleaning materials and equipment
• Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
• Use cleaning products responsibly and safely

📋 Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Follow company policies, procedures, and hygiene standards
• Identify opportunities to improve housekeeping efficiency
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with company values

🎓 Minimum Requirements

Education

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification
• Relevant courses or certificates in cleanliness, hygiene, or housekeeping management will be advantageous

Experience

• Proven experience working as a General Worker or Cleaner within a hospitality environment
• Front-of-house or customer service exposure
• Food and beverage preparation experience will be beneficial
