Programme Overview
The Face-to-Face Financial Adviser Learnership is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience, structured learning, and professional development within Absa’s advisory environment.
Successful candidates will gain exposure to financial planning, customer engagement, regulatory compliance, and sales performance, while working toward meeting FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) requirements.
This learnership offers a strong foundation for long-term career growth within banking, financial advisory, and wealth management services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learner Financial Adviser, you will be expected to actively participate in both training and workplace activities, including:
Learning & Development
- Attend all training sessions, workshops, and development programmes
- Build financial product knowledge and advisory skills
- Participate in assessments and performance reviews
Workplace Experience
- Perform daily tasks aligned to business and learning objectives
- Support experienced advisers and operational teams
- Apply theoretical knowledge in real customer situations
Customer Engagement
- Assist clients with financial queries and service needs
- Deliver high-quality customer experiences during face-to-face interactions
- Build and maintain professional client relationships
Sales & Productivity
- Work allocated leads and opportunities to meet agreed targets
- Achieve productivity benchmarks and strike rates
- Contribute to business growth through effective client engagement
Administration & Reporting
- Complete all required administrative documentation accurately
- Track learning progress and performance results
- Ensure compliance with operational standards
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times
- Follow prescribed scripts and regulatory procedures
- Uphold FAIS and internal compliance requirements
FAIS Fit and Proper Requirements
This role falls under FAIS legislation and requires candidates to meet regulatory standards, including:
- FSCA-approved qualification (preferred)
- Regulatory Exam for Representatives (RE5) – an advantage
- Product-specific training upon onboarding
- Class of Business training
- Ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Commitment to honesty, integrity, and professional conduct
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
- Accounting (Required)
- Finance or Law (Advantageous)
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) – Required
