Trades Offered

Applicants may select two trades in order of preference from the following options:

Aircraft Welding

Training includes welding and repairing aircraft and engine components, plasma spraying, heat treatment processes, and the manufacturing of parts and tooling used in aviation maintenance.

Aircraft Spray Painting

This trade focuses on corrosion prevention, repair of paint coatings, application of protective finishes, and painting of aircraft interiors and exteriors according to aviation standards.

Aircraft Trimming

Learners are trained in the manufacturing, inspection, repair, and maintenance of aircraft interiors, including seats, panels, and survival equipment.

Aircraft Composite Structures

This trade involves manufacturing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft composite components used in modern aircraft construction.

Minimum Education Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria:

Option 1: Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Mathematics: 50% or higher (Pure Mathematics / Level 4)
  • Physical Science: 50% or higher (Level 4)
  • English: Passed (symbol required)
Option 2: N3 Certificate
  • Mathematics: 50% pass
  • Engineering Science: 50% pass
