Virgin Active South Africa is looking for a dynamic and motivated Contact Centre Sales Agent to join its Central Sales division. Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to sell to prospective members in line with Virgin Active’s sales strategy and support the organisation’s broader business goals. Key Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:

- Work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays, when required.
Sales and Communication Responsibilities
- Engage with prospects using telephonic sales methods and digital communication tools.
- Understand club demographics and market needs to deliver clear and relevant messaging.
- Conduct detailed needs analysis to recommend the most suitable membership options.
- Generate and manage leads, including those self-generated and centrally provided.
- Set quality appointments and maximise opportunities to convert inquiries into sales.
- Complete sales over the phone while maintaining high service standards.
- Resolve inquiries efficiently while ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Administrative and Tracking Responsibilities
- Write professional emails with strong grammar and spelling.
- Manage administrative tasks associated with sales, data tracking, and reporting.
- Follow manual lead-tracking processes with attention to detail.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure compliance with internal systems.
Additional Activities
You may also participate in:
- Mystery calls and confirmation calls
- Live chat support
- Social media-based support (Twitter, Facebook)
- Responding to Google Reviews
- Multichannel administrative requests
You will also be required to stay updated on:
- Club events, activities, and promotions
- Upcoming sales and marketing campaigns

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Up to 3 years of experience in sales, retention, or a similar role
- A strong track record of meeting sales targets, preferably over the phone
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Resilience and the ability to handle rejection
- Ability to multitask across systems, platforms, and communication channels
- Confidence in handling both voice and written communications
