Key Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Picker/Packer, your daily tasks will include:

1. Order Picking and Packing
  • Accurately pick items according to order sheets, pick lists, or digital scanning systems.
  • Pack products neatly and securely to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Double-check order details to ensure that the correct items and quantities are prepared.
  • Follow KFC’s internal processes to maintain accuracy and minimise stock discrepancies.
2. Product Verification and Quality Control
  • Inspect all products for damage, quality issues, or incorrect labelling before packing.
  • Verify quantities against the warehouse management system (WMS) or manual documentation.
  • Report any stock inconsistencies or faulty items to supervisors immediately.
3. Dispatch Preparation
  • Prepare items for delivery by labelling, wrapping, and sealing packages correctly.
  • Organise packed goods in designated dispatch zones to streamline transportation workflows.
  • Assist the dispatch team with palletising and loading where required.
4. Warehouse Maintenance and Organisation
  • Keep work areas, aisles, shelves, and packing stations clean and well-organised.
  • Participate in general housekeeping to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Follow warehouse hygiene and food safety rules to ensure compliance with national regulations.
5. Inventory and Stock Management
  • Assist with inventory checks, cycle counts, and full stock takes when required.
  • Monitor shelf replenishment and bin management to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Operate hand-held scanners and update stock information through the WMS system.
6. Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with warehouse supervisors, pickers, packers, and dispatch staff.
  • Contribute to daily productivity and efficiency targets by working as part of a unified team.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure that tasks are completed smoothly and on time.

What You Need to Succeed

Candidates applying for this position should meet the following requirements:

Minimum Qualification
  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent National Senior Certificate.
