Hungry Lion, in partnership with Digicloud Africa, is offering an exciting opportunity for young South Africans to gain meaningful work experience through the 2026 YES Learnership Programme. This 12-month initiative will take place at the Hungry Lion Head Office in Stellenbosch, with some placements also available at the company’s warehouse located in Kraaifontein. The programme is designed to equip youth with hands-on work exposure, valuable skills, and practical experience in a supportive and professional environment.

About the YES Learnership Programme

The YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative aims to provide South African youth with real workplace experience that increases employability and improves future job prospects. Hungry Lion has partnered with Digicloud Africa to ensure participants receive structured training, mentorship, and exposure to corporate work processes.

Learners will commit to a full 12-month period beginning February 2026, during which they will perform office-based duties, complete assigned learning modules, and develop the personal and professional competencies needed for long-term career growth.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Although duties may differ depending on your placement within the Hungry Lion Head Office or warehouse environment, you can expect to be responsible for:

1. Office-Based Administrative Support
  • Assisting teams with general administrative tasks
  • Filing, organising documents, and maintaining office systems
  • Capturing data, updating spreadsheets, and managing digital records
2. Coordination and Support Tasks
  • Assisting with day-to-day office operations
  • Performing basic clerical duties required by line managers
  • Supporting team members in various departments as needed
3. Learning and Development
  • Completing all assigned learnership modules
  • Participating in training sessions, workshops, and professional development activities
  • Demonstrating commitment to continuous learning
4. Communication and Teamwork
  • Collaborating with colleagues and participating in team activities
  • Demonstrating good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Delivering tasks within deadlines and communicating progress to supervisors

The exact tasks will be discussed with successful applicants before placement to ensure alignment with departmental needs.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this YES learnership opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be 18–35 years old
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must NOT have participated in any YES learnership programme before
  • Must have completed Matric (Grade 12)
  • Must attach all required documents:
    • CV
    • Certified ID copy
    • Matric certificate or results
  • Must be able and willing to work in Stellenbosch or at the Kraaifontein warehouse
  • Must be computer literate
