Position Overview
Job Title: General Worker: Electrical Services (Five Positions Available)

Salary Range: R136 785.00 – R160 695.00 (Task Level 3)

Minimum Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with a range of tasks that support electrical service operations. These include:
- Assisting with minor and major electrical works, including installations, maintenance, and repairs under the direction of a supervisor.
- Preparing work sites by clearing vegetation, laying cables, and ensuring safe access for the technical team.
- Using equipment such as machetes, shovels, hoes, rakes, and spades to clear areas and dig trenches.
- Helping with the loading, unloading, carrying, and placement of materials and equipment.
- Barricading work areas with cones and safety tape to ensure public and worker safety.
- Unrolling and laying underground cables, as well as pulling overhead conductor lines.
- Stabilising ladders and poles to assist artisans in elevated maintenance tasks.
- Compacting soil and preparing pole planting sites.
- Handing tools to supervisors or assistant artisans while working on the ground or at height.
- Cleaning and maintaining the work area to ensure safety and neatness.
- Reporting challenges, safety concerns, or irregularities to the supervisor.
- Performing any additional duties assigned by the supervisor in accordance with operational needs.
