Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Market-related, based on industry standards
General Workers play an essential role in the day-to-day functioning of each store. The role includes customer service, food preparation, hygiene maintenance, stock handling, and supporting the store team to deliver efficient operations and a consistently positive experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations and Food Preparation
- Assist with essential food preparation tasks, such as cooking support, packaging, and assembling orders.
- Help maintain consistency in product quality by following standard operating procedures.
- Serve customers efficiently and professionally, ensuring each guest receives a positive experience.
Customer Service
- Provide friendly and effective customer support at the counter or service area.
- Assist customers with placing orders, answering basic menu questions, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Maintain a welcoming and tidy customer-facing environment.
Cleaning and Hygiene
- Ensure the store meets hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Sweep, mop, and wipe down surfaces in the kitchen, service areas, and customer zones.
- Clean tools, equipment, and utensils after use.
- Dispose of waste and recycling responsibly, in line with company guidelines.
Stock and Supply Management
- Assist with receiving inventory and checking stock deliveries for accuracy.
- Unpack, organise, and rotate stock in storage and service areas.
- Monitor usage levels and report low-stock items to supervisors.
General Assistance
- Provide support to skilled or senior staff members as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Help carry tools, supplies, or materials where applicable.
- Move items within the store or storage areas to ensure efficient workflow.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management to support operational needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10–12 (Matric preferred but not mandatory).
- South African citizen or holder of a valid work permit.
- No previous experience required; however, experience in fast food, hospitality, or retail is an advantage.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.
