The Frontshop Assistant plays an essential role in maintaining Dis-Chem’s high standards of merchandising and customer service. You will ensure that shelves are fully stocked, clean, and attractively displayed while providing friendly assistance to customers at the point of sale.

📋 Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate.
- 0 – 6 months of retail work experience.
Advantageous:
- 1 year of retail experience.
- Certification in Retail Business Management or a related field.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
As a Frontshop Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that all shelves are fully stocked and that products are neatly displayed.
- Checking stock regularly to ensure no items have passed their sell-by date.
- Restocking shelves promptly to maximize product availability and sales.
- Following up on all out-of-stock customer queries according to the company’s procedures.
- Ensuring all new stock is correctly packed, priced, and displayed.
- Maintaining an organized and clean storeroom.
- Staying up to date with product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- Managing transactions at the till, including cash, card, voucher, and loyalty payments.
- Handling customer exchanges and returns with proper authorization.
- Reporting price discrepancies, damaged items, or expired stock to management.
- Supporting stock counts, stock rotation, and general housekeeping.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining high store hygiene standards.
- Assisting with loading and offloading stock and disposing of packaging materials appropriately.
- Ensuring that all till transactions and cash handling are accurate and secure.
- Promoting excellent customer service by greeting customers and addressing inquiries courteously.
- Reporting compliments and complaints to management promptly.
- Upholding the company’s values and professional image through proper dress and conduct.
