Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support RNC Construction teams during maintenance and construction activities, particularly within the Overhead Track Equipment (OHTE) environment.

Successful candidates will assist with general labour tasks to ensure that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and according to required standards.

This role is suited to individuals who are comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and are committed to safety and teamwork.


Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker, your duties will include:

General Duties
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Maintain punctuality, discipline, and professional conduct
  • Follow instructions and adhere to workplace procedures
Site Support and Maintenance
  • Assist with loading and offloading materials
  • Clean work areas by removing weeds, debris, and excess materials
  • Stack and organise materials on-site
  • Sweep and maintain cleanliness of workspaces
Tools and Equipment
  • Use non-mechanised hand tools safely and effectively
  • Clean and maintain tools after use
  • Assist with setting up and handling equipment
Physical Tasks
  • Carry and position 12-meter extension ladders
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces when required
  • Perform manual labour in various environments

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 9 qualification or
  • At least 6 months of relevant work experience
