Job Summary

As a Waiter in the Corporate Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining high hospitality standards for staff, visitors, and stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring that serving areas, tea stations, boardrooms, and meeting rooms are prepared, maintained, and cleaned in accordance with SARB’s standards.

Your work will directly contribute to creating a professional and welcoming environment for all visitors and employees, reflecting the Bank’s commitment to excellence.


Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Waiter include:

  • Service Delivery: Provide high-quality food and beverage services in serving areas, tea stations, boardrooms, and meeting rooms. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and presentation of refreshments.
  • Organisation and Planning: Efficiently organise daily tasks to ensure completion within set timeframes and standards. Participate in the setup and clearing of dining areas, buffets, and tea stations.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with opening, recording, and closing inventories of consumables and supplies. Notify management of stock shortages or irregularities.
  • Customer Interaction: Apply professional etiquette when interacting with employees, visitors, and stakeholders. Display courtesy, attentiveness, and responsiveness to service requests.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to ensure smooth service delivery. Support colleagues when needed and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance service efficiency and improve hospitality procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this position should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12/Matric certificate. An NQF4 certificate in food and beverage handling is an advantage.
  • Experience: 1–2 years in a hospitality environment, specifically in waitering or food service roles.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
