🎯 Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to support warehouse operations by ensuring accurate stock handling, efficient order preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will assist with various operational activities including stock picking, packing, checking, housekeeping, and general warehouse support functions to ensure smooth daily operations.

✅ Key Duties and Responsibilities

The General Worker will be responsible for a wide range of warehouse duties, including but not limited to:

Warehouse Operations

• Cleaning and maintaining overall warehouse cleanliness.
• Assisting with checking and verifying stock orders.
• Picking customer and branch orders according to standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring all items are correctly picked and packed according to picking tickets or invoices.
• Signing off picking and checking documentation accurately.
• Recording completion dates and times on picking tickets.

Packing and Stock Handling

• Assisting with packing of customer orders when required.
• Packing received shipments and returned stock onto shelves.
• Repackaging damaged or old stock items.
• Wrapping pallets securely for dispatch.
• Assisting with container offloading and shipment handling.

Inventory Support

• Supporting stock takes and cycle counts.
• Assisting with stock checking and verification processes.
• Ensuring correct quantities match documentation requirements.
• Reporting discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors.

Assembly Assistance

• Supporting the assemblies department when assigned.
• Assisting with assembling stock items according to instructions.

Housekeeping Duties

• Emptying warehouse bins and removing empty boxes from aisles.
• Destroying discarded packaging materials before disposal.
• Maintaining safe and organised working areas.
• Performing general housekeeping tasks assigned by warehouse management.

General Support

• Carrying out additional reasonable duties as instructed by management.
• Supporting warehouse efficiency and productivity targets.
• Working collaboratively with team members to achieve operational objectives.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 School Certificate
• At least 1 year of warehouse working experience
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment
• Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks
