Premier Waltloo Bakery is seeking a motivated and reliable Loader to join our Despatch team. This is a hands-on operational role that plays a critical part in the daily flow of bakery products from our facility to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate loading and offloading of bread, ensuring products reach our clients in excellent condition while adhering to company standards and procedures.

🎯 Key Objectives
The primary goal of the Loader is to ensure the smooth and efficient loading and offloading of bakery products, maintaining stock quality and accuracy, and supporting overall despatch operations. The Loader contributes directly to customer satisfaction by ensuring deliveries are accurate, complete, and timely.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Loading & Offloading Duties
- Load bread onto trucks accurately according to the picking slip.
- Follow the pipeline loading sequence to ensure correct product distribution.
- Count and balance trays in trucks to maintain correct stock levels.
- Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) methodology.
- Maintain quality control by ensuring only high-quality bread is loaded.
- Assist with offloading when required to support warehouse or delivery teams.
Operational Support
- Attend daily invocom and other operational meetings to stay informed on production and dispatch schedules.
- Report any loading-related issues or discrepancies to management promptly.
- Support Despatch Clerks as required, including relief duties on a rotating basis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the despatch department.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with fellow loaders, warehouse staff, and delivery drivers.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding stock, quality, and operational concerns.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and results-oriented approach while maintaining attention to detail.
🎓 Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
- Experience: At least 3 months of experience in a similar position within the FMCG industry is preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on warehouse or bakery loading experience will be given preference.
🧠 Required Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of business processes, operational rules, and in-house systems.
- Strong numerical ability for tray counts and inventory balancing.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling and documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility and willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

⚙️ Working Conditions
- Loaders are required to work until the last truck has been loaded for the day.
- Must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
- Work on a rotating shift basis as per operational requirements.
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and moving trays of bread.
