The General Worker role plays an important supporting function in maintaining plant efficiency and ensuring operational reliability within this highly technical environment.
🎯 Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the General Worker position is to support continuous plant availability through effective cleaning, maintenance assistance, and upkeep of HVAC systems and related equipment.
The successful candidate will assist maintenance teams in ensuring that plant areas remain safe, functional, and compliant with operational standards.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
The General Worker will be responsible for a variety of operational and maintenance support duties, including:
✅ Safety and Housekeeping
- Maintain safe working conditions within plant areas
- Follow company safety procedures and standards

- Support overall housekeeping initiatives
✅ HVAC Maintenance Support
- Assist with maintenance of HVAC and related equipment
- Wash filters and HVAC units regularly

- Sand and paint HVAC units and associated equipment
- Clean plant rooms, HVAC yards, and storage areas

✅ Operational Assistance
- Carry tools and maintenance equipment within allowable weight limits
- Operate mobile WAP high-pressure cleaning machines mounted on trailers
- Assist technicians during maintenance activities

🎓 Minimum Educational Requirements
Applicants must have:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or N3 qualification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
🚗 Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence (Code EB or EC1 advantageous)
- Physical fitness suitable for manual work
- Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment
- Ability to follow safety instructions strictly
💼 Experience Requirements
Candidates should have:
- At least 1 year of relevant working experience
- Exposure to an Electrical or HVAC environment (advantageous)
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
