The Central Energy Fund SOC Ltd (CEF SOC) invites applications for fourteen (14) Cleaner positions at its SANPC Refinery in Durban. This opportunity is open to both internal and external candidates and offers stable employment within South Africa’s strategic energy sector.

🧹 Job Purpose

The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the refinery facilities. The role includes general cleaning, managing cleaning equipment, restocking hygiene supplies, and ensuring a safe and sanitary working environment — often with minimal supervision.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Matric (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a cleaning or similar role

📋 Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Duties

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitise surfaces
• Clean offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas
• Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse correctly
• Wash windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor buffers
• Perform ad-hoc cleaning tasks when required

Supplies Management

• Replenish toilet paper, soap, hand towels, and hygiene materials
• Monitor cleaning supplies and request reorders through the supervisor
• Maintain allocated cleaning stock responsibly

Meeting Room Preparation

• Clean and prepare meeting rooms daily
• Refill tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and hot water supplies
• Ensure professional presentation of meeting spaces

Health and Safety Compliance

• Use cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times
• Report defects or security risks to supervisors immediately

• Preference may be given to candidates residing in KwaZulu-Natal
• Successful candidates will undergo background checks including:
