🏭 Position Overview: Stacker – Supply Chain

As a Stacker at the Durban Rice Plant, you will play a key role in preparing finished products for storage and distribution. Your work directly supports product quality, warehouse efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This is a fast-paced manufacturing role suited to candidates who are physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high production standards.

📋 Key Duties & Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include:

📦 Pallet Handling & Product Stacking

• Inspect pallets before use to ensure safety and quality
• Select correct pallet sizes for different product lines
• Cover pallets with pallet sheet covers for protection
• Stack finished goods neatly according to pallet configuration standards

🔍 Quality Control Checks

• Ensure correct quantity of packets per bale
• Check for damaged or defective products
• Confirm date codes are accurate and visible
• Apply correct barcode labels to all products

🧼 Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain clean workstations at all times
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Comply with all food safety regulations
• Report quality issues immediately
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Report hazards and near-miss incidents

🎯 Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

✔ NQF Level 4 or Grade 12 (Matric) or similar qualification
✔ At least 12 months experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or FMCG environment
✔ Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
✔ Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and stacking
✔ Willingness to work shifts if required

Experience in food production or packing will be an added advantage.
