Role Overview
The Weighbridge Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring accurate vehicle weighing, documentation, and traffic flow within the terminal. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Weighbridge Clerk will perform the following duties on a shift basis:
⚖ Weighbridge Operations
- Accurately capture vehicle weights for all incoming and outgoing trucks
- Operate weighbridge systems and related software
- Maintain precise weight records and transaction logs
🚚 Vehicle Coordination
- Direct drivers to correct loading or offloading sites
- Manage traffic flow to ensure smooth terminal operations
- Communicate clearly with drivers and logistics staff
📄 Documentation & Compliance
- Print audit trails for verification and filing
- Issue Dangerous Goods Declarations as required by the Road Traffic Act
- Ensure documentation meets both legal and customer requirements
🛡 Safety and Reporting
- Report unsafe acts and conditions to the shift supervisor
- Assist in accident and incident investigations
- Support terminal safety procedures and policies
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
🎓 Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
💻 Technical Skills:
- Computer literate
- SAP experience (advantageous)
- Weighbridge system experience (advantageous)
🏭 Experience (Advantageous):
- Previous experience in bulk liquid storage facilities or terminal operations
- At least one year of experience in a similar role
