Position Overview: Call Centre Operator
The primary purpose of the Call Centre Operator role is to recruit new students while promoting the Rosebank College brand. This involves applying the institution’s proven student recruitment methodology, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring meaningful engagement with prospective students and parents.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, sales-oriented environment and be highly motivated to meet recruitment targets while maintaining excellent service delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Call Centre Operator will perform a range of duties centred around telephonic engagement, sales conversion, and brand promotion. Responsibilities include:
1. Cold Calling
- Contacting existing students to request referrals
- Calling parents of current students to discuss siblings who may be interested in enrolling
- Re-engaging inactive students on the database
- Reaching out to prospective students to promote Rosebank College programmes
2. Telephonic Consultations
- Making initial calls to introduce the Rosebank College brand
- Scheduling telephonic interviews to explore career options with prospective students
- Explaining interview procedures, application steps, and academic offerings
- Capturing student information accurately on the system
- Presenting the College’s philosophy, values, and programme benefits
- Asking relevant career-oriented questions to identify a suitable course
- Discussing qualification details, entry requirements, and programme outcomes
- Addressing questions, concerns, or queries from students and parents
- Advising students regarding acceptance and application deadlines
- Building rapport to establish trust and confidence in the registration process
These activities play a crucial role in ensuring prospective students receive accurate information and feel supported throughout their decision-making process.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Qualifications
- Matric / NQF Level 4 (required)
- A relevant sales qualification (advantageous)
Experience
- At least one year of sales experience, preferably in a call centre or customer-facing environment
