🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse Operator: Picking plays a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations. The main purpose of this position is to accurately select, pack, and count products according to picking instructions. By maintaining high levels of accuracy, safety, and efficiency, the Warehouse Operator contributes directly to the company’s ability to deliver orders on time and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Operator – Picking, your daily duties will include:
- Picking and packing: Accurately selecting loose case and layer items based on picking instructions and ensuring products are correctly packed for delivery.
- Quality control: Verifying and counting picked items to ensure orders are complete, accurate, and of the required quality.
- Stock management: Indicating out-of-stock or short-picked items and reporting inventory discrepancies.
- Equipment handling: Safely operating picking equipment such as electric pallet jacks to locate and transport products efficiently.
- Safety compliance: Following all safety guidelines and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Housekeeping: Keeping the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote efficiency and safety.
- Team collaboration: Communicating with inventory and logistics teams to resolve issues, improve accuracy, and achieve operational goals.
- Continuous learning: Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance warehouse skills and learn new procedures.

📘 Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid Electric Pallet Jack License (essential).
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Strong teamwork abilities and a positive attitude aligned with Econo Foods’ HO HOLA culture.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
