Job Purpose
As a Salesperson, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets, assisting customers, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and completing both cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently. This role plays a key part in the overall customer experience and store success.
Your performance will directly impact the storeβs revenue and customer retention. Youβll work closely with a team of professionals in a collaborative environment that values hard work and performance.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of this role include:
- Providing exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and offering the right product solutions
- Achieving sales targets set by the store manager or regional leadership
- Assisting customers with cash and credit transactions, ensuring all documentation is completed properly
- Ensuring accurate product knowledge to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions
- Contributing to a well-organized, well-merchandised, and clean store environment
- Promoting store promotions, new arrivals, and loyalty programmes
- Helping to manage inventory, assisting with stock control and product replenishment
- Reporting customer feedback and assisting in resolving queries or complaints professionally
- Working as part of a team to ensure a positive, goal-driven environment
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- A customer-centric attitude and the ability to deliver high levels of service
- A solid understanding of basic sales principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse customer base
- Team player who works well in a group and supports store goals
- Must be self-motivated with a high level of personal drive
- Good attention to detail, especially in cash handling and product knowledge
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced retail environment
- Availability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
