Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate and efficient capturing of participant data from source documents into electronic systems (eCRF).

The Data Capturer will also be responsible for maintaining high-quality data standards, supporting administrative processes, and assisting the Data Manager in ensuring that all participant records are accurate and up to date.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

Data Capturing
  • Accurately capture participant information into electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF)
  • Ensure all data entries are complete, clear, and correct
  • Perform data entry tasks as required by the research team
Quality Control
  • Conduct regular quality checks on captured data
  • Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies
  • Ensure compliance with data accuracy standards
Data Administration
  • Prepare and organise participant files
  • Maintain proper filing systems for easy access and retrieval
  • Assist in managing and updating participant records
Research Support
  • Assist the Data Manager with maintaining data integrity
  • Support other study-related activities as needed
  • Work closely with the research team to ensure smooth project operations

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Typing skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with participant or patient data and files

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

The following will be advantageous:

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Experience in a healthcare or research environment
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
