🎯 Job Purpose
As a Freight Forwarder, you will act as the onsite operator based at the client’s site in Stanger. Your role is to handle the client’s forwarding business, ensuring all cargo is booked, processed, and sailed according to client requirements. You will manage shipments, resolve client and vendor queries, and maintain accurate administrative records to support efficient logistics operations.
This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to work under minimal supervision and handle client interactions professionally.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Split and prepare shipments for forwarding.
- Verify clients’ rates in line with their contracts.
- Resolve billing queries between the client and DSV.
- Address vendor inquiries and ensure smooth communication.
- Maintain and update your dashboard on CargoWise or other logistics systems.
- Process credit requests when required.
- Send pre-alerts to relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate with DSV origin offices to coordinate shipments.
- Update status reports and provide accurate client liaison support.
- Participate in the full forwarding process to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality, including transport to and from work.
📋 Job Requirements
Education and Skills:
- Tertiary qualification is an advantage.
- Intermediate computer literacy; knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Drivers’ license is essential.
Experience:
- 0–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, preferably with international shipments.
- Strong client engagement and interpersonal skills.
- Sound administrative and invoicing abilities.
Other Requirements:
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the North Coast, Ballito, or Stanger area.
- Ability to work independently and handle changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and reliability.
