🧰 Job Purpose
The General Worker at VKB Milling will perform general operational and housekeeping tasks to ensure smooth daily functioning of the mill. This position involves both manual labor and practical support tasks, providing essential assistance to team members, suppliers, and customers.
The role is ideal for physically fit candidates who are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work in a team environment while performing routine and ad hoc tasks.
✅ Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of premises and work areas.
- Perform cleaning duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Assist customers and suppliers with the loading and offloading of stock in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support stock control activities and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Assist with painting, minor maintenance, and other practical tasks as needed.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Follow instructions and company procedures accurately.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and productivity.
🎯 Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4
- Experience & Skills:
- Basic stock handling, loading, and offloading experience
- Painting and minor maintenance experience
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor
- Strong practical skills and dexterity
- Ability to read and understand English
- Knowledge of stock control procedures is an advantage
