📚 Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Life Orientation and supporting the academic development of learners in the FET phase.
Duties include:
• Delivering engaging Life Orientation lessons at Matric level
• Planning, preparing and assessing lessons
• Setting and marking assessments
• Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
• Developing quality learning resources
• Providing extra lessons when required
• Participating in the High School’s extramural programme
• Attending school events and special occasions
• Responding to emails and telephone messages within 24 hours
• Supporting learners’ knowledge, skills and personal development
🎓 Requirements
Applicants should have:
✅ SACE registration – essential
✅ Appropriate qualification as a Life Orientation teacher
✅ Matric Life Orientation teaching experience – essential
✅ Strong understanding of assessment standards
✅ Good organisational and administrative skills
✅ Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
✅ Professional and punctual approach
✅ Creative, energetic and innovative teaching style
✅ Commitment to continuous professional development
⭐ Advantageous Experience
The following will be advantageous:
• Minimum 3 years’ IEB teaching experience
• IEB Matric marking experience
• Ability to teach Creative Arts
The successful candidate should be passionate about education, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and committed to creating an engaging learning environment for learners.
