Job Overview
Clicks is looking for a confident and customer-focused Beauty Assistant to join the team at Cotswold Square in Hillcrest. This permanent position is suited to someone who has a genuine interest in beauty and skincare products and enjoys helping customers choose products that meet their individual needs.
The Beauty Assistant will work within the beauty department and report to the Store Manager. The role combines customer service, beauty product knowledge, sales, merchandising, stock management and general store operations.
A key part of the position is providing customers with professional and knowledgeable assistance. The successful candidate should be comfortable engaging with customers, answering questions about beauty and skincare products and recommending suitable products and services.
The role is also sales-focused, requiring the successful candidate to promote products, identify additional customer needs and use cross-selling and up-selling techniques to help achieve monthly department targets.
Key Responsibilities
The Beauty Assistant will be responsible for:
- Consulting with customers and understanding their beauty and skincare needs.
- Answering product-related questions and recommending suitable products.
- Providing professional, friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
- Promoting beauty products, ranges, promotions and relevant services.
- Using cross-selling and up-selling techniques to maximise sales.
- Working toward and consistently meeting monthly sales targets.
- Monitoring sales and evaluating product performance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve product offerings and increase sales.
- Keeping up to date with beauty products, skincare ranges, trends, promotions and events.
- Managing stock effectively within the beauty department.
- Helping minimise shrinkage, wastage and stock losses.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and administration.
- Ensuring beauty merchandise is presented according to Clicks’ standards.
- Maintaining visual merchandising and promotional displays.
- Acting as a brand ambassador and remaining visible and approachable to customers.
- Promoting Clicks ClubCard and assisting with new member registrations.
- Promoting private-label and exclusive products to increase customer loyalty and profitability.
- Following company procedures and supporting Clicks’ values.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
The following would be advantageous:
- A relevant Beauty or Skincare qualification.
- Experience in beauty, skincare, retail, FMCG, sales or marketing.
Candidates should also have an understanding of:
- Selling principles.
- Retail and FMCG operations.
- Merchandising and promotional principles.
- Stock management procedures.
- Customer service excellence.
- Beauty and skincare products.
