Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
- Must be medically fit.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Must have a clean criminal record.
- Must have reliable transport to and from work.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to work safely and follow all safety requirements.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used for cleaning.
- Physically capable of walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting repetitively.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper storage and disposal.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to identify and complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Ability to follow reasonable instructions from the Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with various operational and general worker duties, including:
- Assisting the truck driver with loading and offloading of trucks.
- Ensuring outside walkways remain clear, clean and free of debris.
- Reporting any repairs or maintenance requirements to building management.
- Cleaning the entire premises.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and orderly working environment.
- Performing general housekeeping duties.
- Carrying out additional duties as required by the Supervisor.
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Handling equipment and cleaning materials responsibly.
- Ensuring that work areas remain safe and presentable.
The position requires someone who is comfortable with physical work and can remain productive throughout the working day. The successful candidate must be prepared to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and walking.
Because the role involves working around trucks, equipment and other operational activities, safety is a key requirement. Employees will be expected to follow workplace procedures and use equipment correctly.
Candidates must also be willing to work different shifts and be available for weekend and public holiday work when required.
