🔧 Department: Maintenance
The successful candidate will be responsible for general maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance and ensuring the hotel provides a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
✅ Responding to maintenance requests and prioritising urgent tasks
✅ Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
✅ Maintaining electrical systems, lighting, TVs and refrigeration
✅ Assisting with plumbing, water systems, fixtures and drainage
✅ Basic maintenance of HVAC systems
✅ Repairing furniture, fixtures and other hotel equipment
✅ Maintaining swimming pools and spa facilities
✅ Painting and carrying out general repairs
✅ Assisting with landscaping and grounds maintenance
✅ Monitoring contractor work and service quality
✅ Conducting safety checks on equipment and facilities
✅ Following health and safety procedures
✅ Handling tools, materials and chemicals safely
✅ Monitoring water quality and pressure systems
✅ Supporting energy-saving practices
✅ Maintaining stock of maintenance supplies and tools
✅ Processing maintenance requests and purchase requirements
✅ Taking proper care of tools and equipment
🛠️ SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate should have:
✔️ Strong general maintenance and repair skills
✔️ Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge
✔️ Building maintenance and repair experience
✔️ Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
✔️ Good communication skills
✔️ Painting skills
✔️ Basic HVAC knowledge
✔️ Good understanding of health and safety
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Good tool and equipment handling skills
✔️ A strong commitment to customer and guest service
💪 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be able to:
✔️ Stand and walk for extended periods
✔️ Lift up to 25kg when required
✔️ Work with tools and equipment
✔️ Work in different weather conditions
