Job Overview
Fidelity Services Group is hiring a Crew member for its Fidelity Cash Solutions (FCS) division in Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a permanent, mid-senior level opportunity reporting directly to the Branch Manager.
The overall purpose of the position is to support Cash-in-Transit (CIT) operations by collecting and delivering clients’ money, ensuring consignments are handled securely and that appropriate proof of collection and delivery is provided.
The role is suited to candidates with security industry experience who meet the required PSIRA, CIT and firearm competency requirements. The successful candidate must be physically fit, reliable and able to remain calm and focused when working under pressure.
The position also provides an opportunity to develop within the Fidelity Cash Solutions environment, as the successful candidate will be expected to train as a future Custodian.
Key Responsibilities
The Crew member will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient movement of clients’ money and consignments. Duties include:
- Taking full responsibility for the collection and delivery of clients’ money.
- Providing the required proof of collection and delivery.
- Receiving, sorting and distributing consignments according to operational procedures.
- Ensuring money and consignments are handled securely throughout the process.
- Reporting any delays to the Branch Manager immediately.
- Maintaining regular radio communication with controllers.
- Remaining alert to potential security risks and suspicious activity.
- Taking preventative action when suspicious behaviour or potential threats are identified.
- Supporting incident prevention through constant awareness and adherence to security procedures.
- Reporting incidents and operational concerns promptly.
- Working closely with other members of the CIT team to complete assigned duties safely and efficiently.
- Following all relevant company security and operational procedures.
- Maintaining professional standards when interacting with clients and members of the public.
- Preparing to undertake the necessary training and development to progress towards a future Custodian role.
Because this is a CIT position, the Crew member is expected to remain highly alert, follow instructions carefully and communicate effectively with controllers and fellow team members.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Clear criminal record.
- PSIRA accreditation with a minimum Grade C qualification.
- Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Certificate.
- Firearm competency, with at least a handgun qualification for business purposes.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the security industry or a similar role is advantageous.
- Clear disciplinary record.
- A valid driver’s licence is advantageous, but not listed as essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be physically fit to perform the requirements of the position.
Candidates must also be prepared to comply with Fidelity’s operational, security and training requirements.
